The adaptions of the black rhino:
As you know with any rhino, it has a big horn on the front of its nose and a smaller horn right behind that one. The bigger horn is called the anterior horn and the smaller one is called the posterior horn. These are just some of the animals adaptions. It uses them as both protection and the males rub/scrape the anterior horn to woo its mate. When I say scrape I don't mean on the other animal. I mean the male would scrape the anterior horn on the ground in front of the female to woo her. When it is ready to mate it makes several efforts to mount the female. Every time it fails though the female makes several attempts to charge the male. The horns are an amazing adaption any animal should be jealous to have.
When it is using it's horns to keep itself protected, it makes a headbutt type motion with its head to strike at the predator. It will also charge, headfirst, at the predator to injure them. When the rhino is in danger, it see's what/where its attackers are, and at the right moment, it strikes back. Here is a video of a black rhino attacking a lion pack.

As you can see the black rhino really knows how to use its adaptions. The black rhino is also endangered, but that's because of its darker hide. Many people want to own the hide of these animals, but some hunters are nice enough to the locals that they let them keep the meat. Anyway, it not only has the horns as it's adaptions, but it has many more!
As in it's name, it's color is a little darker. This is to blend in with it's environment. The animal has been found scattered around Africa. Even though in it's name it says "black" rhino, they are really not black. They are more of a grey or a very dark brown. They are lazy-ish animals (in other words, the animal fulfills it's purpose of mating and moves on with the rest of it's life by sitting and eating). I say this because they lay low and so that allows them to hide in the taller grass of Africa.
When these animals are spooked they seem to start a stampede. Even though they are small in number, they still travel in packs, but when they are running they alert the animals around them. They can alert them because when they are running, because the are so heavy, they make a loud booming sound when they run, that and the other animals can see them running. These are a savior to most animals.
